How to Accept a Job Offer

How to Accept a Job Offer

How to Accept a Job Offer? Seems quite simple but in reality, it is a very complicated question. In other words, it is a very good question indeed and we all go through this phase in our life. Before answering this simple but complicated question I would like to give a real-life example. I personally believe that answering a complicated question becomes easy if you relate it with your own personal experiences.

How I Started My Professional Carrier

I started my first job as a School Middle-Grade Teacher. Although I had no interest in teaching like other young age fellows, I heard the same old depressing stories regarding the lack of opportunities, jobs, and income to earn enough to run a family. I also got depressed by hearing the realities from other people that how did they struggle to earn money. My father was in Army at that time and he started looking for a job for me when I was studying in the University's last semester. I did not think in my whole life that I will become a teacher after completing my Sciences Degree. As there were no other opportunities at that time I got under pressure and accepted to teach.
My teaching career ended with a sad struggle to get a job in my computer's field. I also could not complete my MS Computer Science degree because of so much domestic and mental stresses which I faced in my life. The workload, the unnecessary written observations from the Heads, Parent Teachers Meeting pressures. After 4.5 years I resigned from the job and start searching for a job relevant to my interests and field. I was under pressure because of my family. I tried to defend myself a lot but they refused to listen to me.

The Twist Came Over Here

After some time I got a job offer from a Mobile Applications company. They required a content writer and I have good content writing skills. I did not think much and joined that company. There was a one month paid training. After one month I learned the App Store Optimization field which I was not familiar with before. I was so happy that I have got a job relevant to my field. After a few months, I found myself under pressure of a lot of work. I worked hard to make my name in the industry.
In very less time I learned a lot and trained more than 30 employees to become a better writer and to optimize the content of the app in a more searchable way. I compromised on my salary. I also sat late at night to work for no reason. Boss did not raise my salary. The working environment was not so good and the seniors were the Boss. They did not raise any employee's salary. Once Again I found myself helpless I talked to my seniors but it was of no use.

I Did Not Know My Worth

In the same way, I went for an interview with other companies as well. In all the places where I went for the job, I did not face many rejections. But the offered salary was way so less according to my experience and skills. So I learned the lesson of my life that “I Did Not Know My Worth". Because of the pressure of the Joblessness in my country + the family criticism + Engagement with my FiancĂ©. I accepted low salary jobs only to learn something and get a job by compromising my time, my salary and my worth.
There must be guys like me who must be in search of the job. Always following these points before accepting the job offer from the company.
